"Chaos" Colby Covington Faces "Stun Gun" Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night 111
"Chaos" Colby Covington (11-1) Faces "Stun Gun" Dong Hyun Kim (22-3-1) at UFC Fight Night 111
Both Colby Covington and Dong Hyun Kim return ti face one another at UFC Fight Night 111! Covington has longed looked and deserved a Top 10 WW (Welterweight) after dominating Jonathan Meunier, and all the hard work in marketing himself by being out-spoken and calling out other fighters, he found someone who agreed to fight him.
It's none other than Dong Hyun Kim. A SAVAGE Top 10 Welterweight with highlight KO's and always entertaining. His stand-up has improved a lot since he debuted in The UFC, but his grappling is elite with excellent top control and defending submissions and Ground-n-Pound.
He's very well-rounded, but he's facing an elite grappler himself in "Chaos" (love it) Colby Covington.
Both always bring it, and both are ALWAYS looking for a finish with Covington, he holds a very nice finish resume of 7 Finishes (6 Submissions making one verbally tap to strikes) (And 1 KO/TKO)
His UFC Finish Resume is impressive as well standing at 4 Finishes (3 Submissions 1 KO/TKO) You can tell he always looks for finishes, and he's also looked really good in his last fights only dropping a submission loss to Warlley Alves.
A win over a Top 10 Welterweight ptoPELLS himself to The 10 in which he really wants because that gets him one step closer to fighting for the strap.
Dong Hyun Kim looks to return to the octagon when he fought a always dangerous Tarec Saffiedine in which he won via Split Decision. Kim, like "Chaos" Covington, has looked dominant since losing to current Welterweight Champ, Tyron Woodley.
Kim dominated Burkman with elite grappling and wound up subbing Burkman in Round 3. He would then dominate Dominic Waters in which he'd win First Round KO/TKO.
Since his UFC Debut, he's held notable wins against: Matt Brown, TJ Grant, Nate Diaz, Erick Silva, Siyar Bahadurzada, and Tarec Saffiedine. That's a very impressive resume of good opponents who were Top 15-Top 10 at the time or still are(not by UFC Rankings lol).
He also like Covington is a finisher. He holds a Finish Record of 10 Finishes (2 Submissions 8 KO/TKO) UFC Finish Record (5 Finishes) (4 KO/TKO) (1 Submission).
They're both on winning streaks with 3 wins in a row each, so this is a perfectly balanced match-up. Both are great grapplers and both are always looking for a finish!
I'm a big fan of both, and I wish both the best of luck whoever wins! Whoever wins, I as a fan, win :)!
This fight will be a scrap, and if it hits the ground, expect all sorts of crazy grappling transitions and with Kim, he has highlight KO's of Erick Silva and Jon Hathaway, so expect the unexpected!
This fight will take place at UFC Fight Night 111 (6/17/17), so set your calendars for this day because it will be a SCRAP!
